Unanimous Defense Verdict in Suffolk County Trial

Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt, LLP partners Danielle Chin, who was serving as first chair for the first time, alongside second chair and seasoned trial attorney, John Henninger, successfully secured a unanimous defense verdict in a medical malpractice trial held in the Supreme Court, Suffolk County.

The case involved allegations of negligence against a local hospital, an emergency room physician, and an emergency room physician assistant. The plaintiff claimed that the defendants failed to obtain necessary medical consultations in the emergency department for a suspected tendon tear, allegedly resulting in harm. The defense argued that the care provided met the applicable standard and that the defendants acted appropriately under the circumstances.

After deliberation, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the defense, rejecting the claims of medical negligence.

“This was a significant professional milestone,” said Danielle. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the trial and for the guidance and collaboration of my colleague, John.”

The verdict represented a win for all defendants.
