Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt Attains A Defense Verdict in A Complex Medical Malpractice Action

Senior trial attorney Henry Z. Shaub was recently victorious obtaining a defense verdict from the jury in a medical malpractice case in the New York County Supreme Court before Judge Rosado. Plaintiff’s counsel, Jim Wilkens of Sullivan, Papain, Block, McGrath, Coffinas & Cannavo, P.C., alleged a delay in diagnosing septic arthritis following a knee meniscectomy performed by the defendant orthopedic surgeon.

The plaintiff, a retired well known NY Knicks basketball player, was claiming that he reported drainage from his knee to the defendant physician during a post-operative office visit with no action taken thereafter.

Through his unmatched trial experience and skills, senior trial attorney Henry Z. Shaub was able to convince the jury the plaintiff’s claims were not only completely unfounded but clearly not supported by the records, the science, or common sense. The jury returned a swift and distinctive defense verdict.

The case was managed up through trial by senior associate Robert Castillo who, along with the exceptional support staff at Shaub Ahmuty Citrin & Spratt, supported Mr. Shaub every step of the way to this hard-won success.
