Summary Judgment Secured in Medical Malpractice Case
We are pleased to share that our attorney Jessica George successfully secured summary judgment in a medical malpractice matter involving allegations of negligence in the diagnosis of kidney liposarcoma.
This matter concerned allegations of negligence in the diagnosis of the then 63-year-old female plaintiff’s liposarcoma of the left kidney during a course of treatment with the defendants. The plaintiff alleged a failure to properly interpret an abdominal/pelvic CT which purportedly revealed findings consistent with liposarcoma of the left kidney.
As a result thereof, the plaintiff alleged progression of disease, ultimately requiring nephrectomy and adrenalectomy as well as a loss of a substantial chance for a cure.
Jessica was able to utilize the expert affidavits of a urologic oncology expert and radiology expert that made plaintiff unable to rebut our prima facie entitlement to summary judgment.
