Unanimous Defense Verdict in Suffolk County
We are pleased to share that Senior Trial Partner, William Spratt, and Of Counsel, Dominique Chin, recently secured a unanimous defense verdict in Suffolk County Supreme Court on behalf of a nurse practitioner, emergency medicine physician, and hospital system.
This case involved allegations of negligence in the evaluation of a then 68-year-old male plaintiff who presented to the emergency department following a fall. Specifically, plaintiff alleged that defendants failed to timely diagnose and treat plaintiff’s anorectal abscess during this emergency department visit before the process moved on to necrotizing fasciitis and required surgical intervention.
With the assistance of experts in colorectal surgery and emergency medicine, the jury ultimately concurred that our clients’ actions were entirely within the standard of care and returned an expeditious unanimous defense verdict.
