Overview

Cynthia Spitzer brings a strong foundation in dispute resolution, litigation support, and client advocacy to SACS, where she supports the firm’s healthcare litigation practice with careful analysis, clear communication, and a solution-oriented approach. With extensive training in mediation and negotiation, Cynthia offers a thoughtful perspective that enhances both case strategy and client service.

While in law school, Cynthia gained hands-on experience as a mediation intern at the Cardozo Mediation Clinic, where she mediated various civil disputes in New York Small Claims Court and Civil Court.

Cynthia further developed mediation and advocacy skills through the Cardozo Divorce Mediation Clinic, guiding separating and divorcing couples through the legal and practical aspects of uncontested divorce. Additionally, as a volunteer with Sanctuary for Families’ Uncontested Divorce Project, Cynthia assisted a survivor of domestic violence in navigating the divorce process, advocating for the client’s needs, and preparing all required legal filings.

During Cynthia's time as a summer associate at SACS, she worked closely with the Healthcare Litigation Group, preparing reports on medical records, depositions, expert meetings, and court conferences. She conducted legal and case-value research and observed depositions, expert consultations, and court appearances, gaining practical insight into complex litigation matters.

Cynthia also gained exposure to trial practice and judicial decision-making as a judicial intern with the Supreme Court of New York, Kings County, drafting legal memoranda, conducting research, and assisting the Honorable Patria Frias-Colón and court attorneys during trials and in chambers. Her experience at a commercial and personal injury litigation firm further strengthened her litigation support skills through drafting pleadings, organizing discovery, and preparing appellate and trial-related documents.

In law school, Cynthia served as a staff editor for the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution, in which her note on arbitration agreements was published.

Cynthia draws on her training in negotiation and mediation, combined with litigation experience, to support clients through all stages of dispute resolution. She is committed to delivering thoughtful, strategic, and client-centered representation.
