Overview

Jay Zumpol supports SACS’s healthcare litigation team through careful analysis, clear writing, and practical courtroom insight. He offers a well-rounded skill set that enhances his representation of clients.

Before joining SACS, Jay served as a legal intern at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, where he conducted legal research, drafted motions, and, under attorney supervision, appeared on the record during hearings and arraignments. This hands-on courtroom exposure strengthened his confidence in oral advocacy and understanding of criminal procedure.

Jay also gained civil litigation experience at a boutique Long Island law firm, drafting discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, and other litigation documents. He evaluated filings from opposing counsel to develop responsive arguments and conducted research on a wide range of legal issues, supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process.

Earlier, as a judicial intern in the Commercial Division of the Suffolk County Supreme Court, Jay worked closely with the Honorable Elizabeth H. Emerson. This experience provided valuable insight into judicial reasoning and complex commercial matters.

Before entering law school, Jay worked as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm, drafting motions and memoranda, tracking statutes of limitations and service deadlines, and communicating directly with clients to prepare them for depositions and other proceedings.

Jay also previously served as a congressional intern, assisting constituents with issues involving federal agencies, including veterans’ affairs, immigration, and housing.

At SACS, Jay leverages his broad experience to support clients through all stages of litigation. His diligence, reliability, and thoughtful approach to problem-solving guide Jay’s commitment to providing effective, responsive service to every client.
